The forest fire that broke out in Dungmithang in Bumthang, yesterday, was contained today. The fire was brought under control by a team consisting of the Royal Bhutan Police, the Dzongkhag, divisional forestry officials, trainees from the Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation of Environment and the people from Chhoekhor and Tang Gewogs.
The fire destroyed about 50 acres of forest. The cause of the fire is still not known.
