A new park will be introduced in Thimphu. Located below the Tarayana Center, the new park will supposedly be known as Chuba-Chu Art Park. The initiative is an attempt to create a world-class space for public art and green space with riverside walk.
Tarayana Foundation in collaboration with the Voluntary Artist Studio in Thimphu (VAST) will be offering recreational facilities to cater to local visitors, foreign tourists and especially for the artists to showcase their art work.
Speaking to BBS, the Founder of VAST, Kama Wangdi, said they want to develop the park into a space where artists can have their art pieces displayed.
“We have a very prompt and dynamic group of young people, for example we are in the clock tower and we have these young people very active, very determine young group and we wanted to engage them in many positive ways,” said Kama Wangdi.
Tarayana Foundation has already initiated the effort of bringing in Art Park. City Corporation along with Voluntary Artist Studio in Thimphu will be participating in the development of Art Park for the community.
