Class ten and six results were announced today, with both grades achieving pass rates above 80 per cent. Both the grades showed marked improvement compared to the 2024 cohort. Class ten recorded a pass percentage of over 82 per cent, while class six reached nearly 88 per cent. This is an increase of more than eight per cent and over 10 per cent, respectively.
Rekrith Pelki Pradhan of Samtse Higher Secondary School and Jamyang Pelzang Dolma of Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School have emerged as national toppers of the Class X examination, both securing 92.2 per cent.
They were followed by Yogesh Adhikari of Sarpang Middle Secondary School, Somwang Tshering Palden of The Royal Academy, and Kuenzang Choden of Lungtenphu Middle Secondary School, who each scored 92 per cent.
Sonam Tenzin of Gongthung Middle Secondary School in Trashigang secured 90.8 per cent.
Rekrith Pelki Pradhan said, “I was able to achieve this in my life due to my mother’s trust in me that I will do good in my exam and my teachers who had helped me during odd hours, clearing my doubts and showing great trust in me that I will be able to achieve my goal, and also my relatives who had been constantly encouraging me. ”
Jamyang Pelzang Dolma said, “When I first heard that I was one of the national toppers, I had a lot of mixed feelings. I was not sure if I felt shock or happiness about something. Well, I think it’s all thanks to Kencho Sum, my parents and the whole Lungtenzampa family, especially my teachers, for their guidance and support throughout this journey.”
More than 12,300 students appeared for the examination this year, with an overall pass percentage of 82.67 per cent. Seven schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.
Meanwhile, Passang Lhamo of Taktse Central School has emerged as the national topper of the LCSC Class X examination, securing 88.2 per cent.
Kinley Pelden stood second with 84 per cent, followed by Sonam Choki in third place with 82.2 per cent.
Passang Lhamo said, “I never expected to top the exam, so I’m extremely happy that I did. I’m grateful to the Kencho Sum, my teachers, and my parents for their support. I will continue to work hard and keep learning in the future.”
46 candidates appeared for the Language and Culture Studies Certificate Class X examination this year, recording an overall pass rate of 100 per cent.
In the class six Board Examination, Dendup Dema of Monggar Middle Secondary School has emerged as the national topper, securing 97 per cent. Reena Rana of Dagapela Middle Secondary School stood second with 96.25 per cent, while Jinpa Lhamo of Moshi Primary School came third with 96 per cent.
Dendup Dema said, “First of all, I would like to thank my family for their constant support and encouragement. Secondly, I would like to thank our school principal, the school management and all the teachers for their guidance and for always believing in me. I could not have gotten this far without their support.”
Nearly 13,900 students sat for the Class Six Board Examination in December last year, recording an overall pass percentage of 87.79 per cent. In total, 113 schools achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in the class six exams.
