DCT-registrationDruk Chirwang Tshogpa (DCT) received certificate of registration from the Election Commission of Bhutan, today.  DCT is the fourth political party to be registered.

The Chief Election Commissioner, Dasho Kunzang Wangdi, issued the certificate of registration to the President of Druk Chirwang Tshogpa, Lily Wanggchuk. The Party President also signed the register of the political parties.

Speaking at the event, Lily Wanggchuk said it is a historic moment for DCT to reflect on the important responsibility to work towards the best interest of the country and people.  She added that DCT pledges to serve the Tsa- Wa- Sum with loyalty and devotion.

In the few months’ time, we shall have our second election. This is when the choices will be made. Words will be weighed, actions tested. For, we Bhutanese know better now. So what shall we judge? How shall we generate trust?

Following the event, a press conference was also held.

The Party President said DCT will work towards promoting unity, prosperity and happiness.

One of the main priorities of the Party, she said, will be taking GNH to grassroots level. Addressing youth and social issues will be another priority according to the Party President.

Lily Wanggchuk also said DCT shall not glorify what it does. “We on contrary expect fellow political parties also to make a habit of serving others and not seeking applause for it.”

DCT has seven working committees including candidate selection, women and youth and research development.

The party will now be finalizing their 47 candidates against the certain criteria.   Some of the criteria formed by the party include clean record, committed and acceptance of the Party’s ideologies.

Druk Chirwang Tshogpa will convene its General Assembly in February.
