Over a thousand turn up to see His Majesty in Dagana

His Majesty with the recruits at the Royal Bhutan Police Training Centre at Jigmeling, Gelephu

His Majesty the King arrived in Dagana Dzongkhag on Tuesday from Gelephu.

His Majesty the King, accompanied by Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, visited the Dagana Dzong yesterday. The Dzongkhag offered Ku Sung Thuk Ten mendrel to His Majesty the King.

His Majesty granted an audience to the dzongkhag and local government officials of Dagana dzongkhag, and visited Dagana Higher Secondary School in the afternoon.

His Majesty advised the class 11 and 12 students to work hard and persevere.

The people of neighbouring villages gathered in the market place to meet the King and the Gyaltsuen, who sat with the people late into the evening in small groups.

As night fell, His Majesty asked the people to come to the royal guest house in the morning to continue the interactions.

Over 1,500 people came to see His Majesty in the morning.

While in Gelephu, His Majesty granted separate audiences to recruits at the Royal Bhutan Police Training Centre at Jigmeling, Gelephu and the staff of the Renewable Natural Resources Research and Development centre in Samteling, Gelephu.

His Majesty also met the recruits’ families.

In the evening, His Majesty the King hosted dinner to Officers and wives of Royal Bhutan Army Wing IX in Gelephu.
