Amid the rising demand for fuel and persistent fuel shortage in Samtse, the State Trading Corporation of Bhutan Limited, STCBL’s new fuel depot in Dhamdum comes as a relief to the motorists.  STCBL inaugurated the fuel depot on Saturday. It was constructed by spending Nu 14 M.

There are two existing fuel depots in Samtse. While one remains without fuel most days, the other one in the town is mostly overcrowded.

Oftentimes, the lengthy queues at the fuel depot in the town cause traffic jams.

The STCBL’s new fuel depot is expected to ease the pressure on the existing fuel depot, offering a smoother commute for motorists.

“The new fuel outlet is much more convenient and bigger. The one in the town is small and most of the time it remains packed with cars causing frequent traffic jams,” said Norbu, a resident.

“We are very happy with the news. I heard that many people prefer STCBL fuel because of its high quality which gives motorists good mileage.  The new fuel depot will not only help resolve the fuel shortage but also contribute to the overall improvement of our vehicles,” said Budhi Man Rai, a resident.

The fuel outlet will also sell tires, tubes, lubricants, agricultural tools, machinery, and other STCBL products. The outlet will remain open from 6 AM to 10 PM.

As of today, STCBL has set up about 6 fuel depots in Thimphu, Chhukha, Gelegphu, Tsirang and Samtse, with several additional outlets still under construction in various districts.
