DTT declares party’s first three candidates from the east

The Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa has declared the party’s first three candidates from the east. With this, the party has revealed nine candidates so far for the upcoming parliamentary election.

Dr Chenga Tshering

Dr Chenga Tshering from Thrimshing in Trashigang is Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa’s candidate for the Thrimshing-Kangpar constituency. The 49-year-old is also the party’s Vice President. He has worked in the field of livestock and agriculture for more than 20 years.

He holds a doctorate in veterinary medicine from a Japanese university and a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from a college in India.

He worked as the Director for Mountain Hazelnut Venture between 2019 and 2021.

Wangchuk

50-year-old Wangchuk is the party’s candidate from the Nanong-Shumar constituency in Pema Gatshel. He has worked in the education sector for 25 years and had served as the Chief District Education Officer of Monggar from 2016 to 2018. He worked as the Managing Director of a private business in Paro before joining the party.

Tashi Dorji

And the party’s candidate for the Radhi-Sakteng constituency in Trashigang is 37-year-old Tashi Dorji. He studied banking and insurance at the Institute of Finance in New Delhi. He has worked with the Bank of Bhutan for about six years.

Druk Thuendrel Tshogpa is the country’s fifth registered political party.
