The Police Headquarters forwarded the alleged sexual harassment case involving a police officer in Nganglam to the Nganglam police station on Friday. A senior police officer from Samdrup Jongkhar will handle the case.

The Police Inquiry Committee carried out the court of inquiry in January after an anonymous person posted about the incident on social media. In a court of inquiry, a tribunal is appointed to investigate a matter and decide whether a court-martial is necessary.

The case involves a police officer accused of sexually harassing a female constable in Nganglam. The officer is accused of inappropriate touching and sending lewd photos. The female constable is said to have asked for a transfer but the officer declined her request. The female constable joined the service last year.

An official said the case will be forwarded to the Nganglam Dungkhag Court by the Nganglam police station.
