Tshechu became a closed-door event after the pandemic hit the country in 2020. It is otherwise an assemblage to witness age-old mask dances and celebrate Bhutanese culture. However, considering the sacredness of Talo Tshechu, the Punakha Dzongkhag Administration allowed the people of Talo chiwog to attend the tshechu this time.
