The Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority intercepted 1,800 kilograms of banned green chillies from a vegetable vendor, yesterday. An official said the man was caught during a regular inspection carried out at Ramtokto in Thimphu. The seized chillies were disposed of at Memeylakha in Thimphu, today.

The vendor will be fined more than Nu 2.8 M, ten times the current market value of Nu 158 a kilogram.
