Dasho Kinley Dorji awarded 2020 AMIC Communication award for Transformative Leadership

The former Information and Communications Secretary, Dasho Kinley Dorji, was awarded the 2020 AMIC Communication award for Transformative Leadership. The annual award is given for outstanding achievements in various media and communication fields and categories.

Dasho Kinley Dorji is the country’s first trained journalist who introduced modern media in Bhutan. He founded the country’s first newspaper, the Kuensel. Dasho Kinley worked in the field of journalism for more than 20 years. He was awarded the Red Scarf in 2006 by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo.

The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre is an international non-government organization committed to communication media development in the Asia Pacific region.
