Bhutanese Paralympic Archer debuts at 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo

Pema Rigsel, 34, made his debut at the 2020 Paralympics today. He stood 30th out of 31 participants in the Men’s Recurve Open Archery Ranking round. He defeated a Mongolian archer.

Pema scored a total of 523 points out of a maximum score of 720. Each para-archer gets 72 arrows to shoot in the ranking rounds.

All 31 participants will compete next Friday in the elimination bout where only 16 archers will proceed to the next round.
