Pema Gatshel Drangpon Yeshi Dorji appeals to the High Court

Pema Gatshel Drangpon Yeshi Dorji also appealed to the High Court today. Last month, the Thimphu District Court sentenced him to five years in prison for abetting mutiny and larceny by deception, to be served concurrently.

Along with him, three other individuals were also sentenced for commissioning of criminal conspiracy, mutiny, abetting mutiny and other criminal offences. They planned to overthrow the army’s Chief Operations Officer, Lieutenant General Batoo Tshering.The ten days appeal period will end tomorrow. For now, only Supreme Court Justice Kuenlay Tshering and Pema Gatshel Drangpon Yeshi Dorji appealed to the High Court.
