His Holiness the Je Khenpo appoints six new Lams

His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred Tashi Lekdhar to six newly appointed Lams at the Tashichhoedzong this morning.

50-year-old Chundu Wangchuk is the new Lam of Phajoding Pumola Goenpa in Thimphu. Before assuming the post, he lived at the Phajoding Goenpa, reciting prayers.

A former teacher of Dobji Monastic School, Tshering Penjor, is appointed as the Dangchhu Jarey Goenpa Lam in Wangdue Phodrang. The 39-year-old is from Punakha.

Similarly, Yeshi Dorji is the new Bunakha Lam in Chapchha Gewog of Chhukha. Before the appointment, he worked as a teacher at the Sewla Shedra in Punakha.

His Holiness appointed Gyaltshen as the new Lam of Dawakha in Paro. He recently completed the three-year-retreat.

39-year-old Namgay Rigzin will serve as the Dawakha Lam in Punakha. He is from the same district and worked as a teacher at the Trashigang Goenpa in Thimphu before assuming the new post.

Thinley Yoezer from Jabana in Paro is appointed as the new Jabana Lam. The 39-year-old formerly taught at the Dobji Monastic School.
