The Opposition Party called on the government to come to the rescue of farmers struggling to sell their produce. The party, in a news release today, said it was the government that encouraged the farmers to increase production to meet local demands amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, there are reports of many farmers from Dagana, Paro, Sarpang, and Zhemgang unable to sell their vegetables and other farm produce. The party said the government should look into the issue immediately as the majority of the farmers have ventured into mass production taking loans from the National CSI bank.
