Coinciding with the 31st Birthday of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, the Ministry of Health officially launched the construction of the 65-bedded Mother and Child Hospital in Monggar, today. According to the ministry, it is a major milestone for narrowing the gap in the provision of health services.
The newly launched project is an expansion of the Royal guesthouse which was gifted to the Ministry of Health by His Majesty The King, last year. The new Mother and Child Hospital will be the first-ever hospital to be using a green and sustainable design and the concept of ‘hospital with no harms’. It’s a Government of India (GoI) Project-tied Assistance.
