Supreme Court suspends Justice Kuenlay Tshering and Drangpon Yeshi Dorji

The Chief Justice issued an order to suspend Supreme Court Justice Kuenlay Tshering and Drangpon Yeshi Dorji until the judicial process is over in the ongoing criminal conspiracy case. Two of them were detained last month.

According to the Supreme Court, the order was issued on 5th March.

Justice Kuenlay Tshering was suspended as per Article 21 of the constitution and following the recommendation of the National Judicial Commission. Drangpon Yeshi Dorji was suspended as per Section 131 of the Judicial Service Act and recommendation from the Judicial Council.

Two of them along with Former RBG Commandant Brigadier Thinley Tobgay and Khandu Wangmo was allegedly involved in a criminal conspiracy case and other criminal offences. The Thimphu District Court conducted the preliminary hearing on March 3.
