The deaths have increased to more than 550,000 globally while nearly seven million people have recovered. The United States remains the most affected with over 3 million infections. And with more than 135,000 fatalities, it also has the world’s highest death toll.
Outside of the US, cases are surging in Brazil and India which are second and third worst-hit countries in the world.
Brazil has more than 1.7 million cases and over 69,000 deaths. And India is battling with an outbreak of more than 20,000 new cases each day with the total number of cases nearing 800,000.

The virus, which has led to the death of over half a million of people in just seven months has also badly affected the economy of countries worldwide.
