India among the 10 worst hit nations by Coronavirus pandemic

India recorded the biggest spike in daily COVID-19 count as it registered nearly 7000 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, cases in India are close to 140,000. India is now the 10th worst hit nation by pandemic.

154 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. The number of coronavirus deaths in India has crossed 4,000.

The number of active coronavirus patients surged past 77,000. Over 57,000 have recovered so far. Maharashtra became the first state in India to confirm over 50,000 coronavirus cases.

To mitigate the spread of the virus, India is observing a nationwide lockdown till May end.

Meanwhile in Nepal, the total number of cases have reached 675 after 72 new cases were confirmed from nine different districts today.

In Thailand, two new coronavirus cases and one additional death have been reported today. The new numbers takes the total number of cases in Thailand to 3,042 and deaths to 57.

USA continues to lead the global numbers with 1.68M positive cases and over 20,000 new cases.
