COVID-19 Status in Bhutan & New York

A student studying in the US, who was under facility quarantine in Thimphu has tested positive for Coronavirus. She is the 3rd Bhutanese to be infected with the disease in the country. As per the Health Ministry, she has been moved to the isolation centre and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Away from the country, the Permanent Mission of Bhutan to the United Nations confirmed the fourth positive case among Bhutanese in New York. According to the information posted on the mission’s official Facebook page, the Bhutanese national was tested for COVID-19 on 25th March, and received the test result on 31st March.

The individual was unwell for two weeks and is now recovering. The individual had closely followed the advice of health and local authorities and had remained in home isolation throughout the time she was sick.
