The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will take place between July 23 and August 8 next year after being postponed due to the accelerating Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Following a meeting of the Tokyo 2020 Organising committee, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed and announced the new dates yesterday.

Similarly, the Paralympic Games, originally due to start on 24th August this year, will now take place between 24th August and 5th September next year. Despite postponed to 2021 the games will continue to be known as Tokyo 2020. IOC also confirmed that all athletes already qualified and quota places already assigned will remain unchanged.

Like many other countries, Bhutan has also earned a spot in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games in Archery, last year.
