A five-storey building at Taba in Thimphu was partially damaged by fire this morning. The fire, which started at around 1:30 am destroyed five apartments of the building. The building has 46 tenants.
The fire is suspected to have started from the altar room of the building owner. However, the police said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Although no causalities, the occupants of the damaged units lost their belongings. Firefighters contained the fire from spreading to other apartments.
