The opening ceremony of the 23rd Session of the National Council was held in the afternoon, today. The Prime Minister and the National Assembly speaker also attended the opening session.
The session will begin with the deliberations on the follow-up reports on the resolution of the 22nd session of the National Council. The National Council will deliberate on issues related to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and present Review Reports on issues related to harmful use of Alcohol and Fronting. The house will introduce two legislative bills on Impeachment Procedure Bill and Minister and Minister Equivalent Post holder’s entitlement bill. The house will also deliberate on the Annual Anti-corruption Report 2018 and the Budget and Appropriation Bill 2019-20. The National Council will end on the 26th of June.
