His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed two new Drungchhen at Pungthang Dewachhenpoi Phodrang in Punakha today.
49-year-old Karma Lhendup from Thimphu is appointed as a new Tsugla Drungchhen. He has a master degree from Naropa University in World Contemplative Religions.
Prior to the present post, he worked as a Chief in Translation and Research Division at Tango Dorden Tashithang Buddhist University.
Phub Dorji, 41, from Wangdue Phodrang is the new Due-mang Drungchhen of the Central Monastic Body.
He joined the monk body at the age of 10. Prior to the present post, he served as a senior secretary of Dratshang examination commission and an assistant secretary of Due-mang.
