One of the country’s youngest authors, 13-year-old Yeshi Tsheyang Zam published her second book. The new book ‘Lolay’ was released coinciding with His Majesty’s The King’s birthday on February 21 in Punakha.

The book is dedicated to His Royal Highness The Gyalsey.

Yeshi Tsheyang Zam is a class nine student of Ugyen Academy. She is an avid reader and writing is her hobby. She wrote her first book ‘Khakey’ at the age of 11

Immense support from her parent encouraged her to write her first book. Like her first book Khakey, Lolay is also a children’s book with illustration.

“When I published Khakey, children were also inspired to become writers. They said they wanted to write. I was inspired by them to write a whole new book called Lolay,” Yeshi Tsheyang Zam said.

“We celebrate Lolay on the New Year’s Eve and children sing Lolay to wish people living around them a good year.”

Yeshi is already working on her next book titled ‘Statue Thief’.
