All 12,033 class X passed students to be enrolled in govt. and private schools

All 12,033 students who have passed class X Bhutan Certificate of Secondary Examination (BCSE) 2018 will be enrolled in Class XI in government and private schools. The education ministry announced this while declaring the Class X results this evening.

A total of 12,462 appeared BCSE last year.

“The government higher secondary school will absorb 7,808 students. The government created 1,424 more seats compared to 2018 academic year. 4,225 students will be absorbed in the private schools, the government will provide full scholarships to all the students studying in the private schools,” JB Rai, the Education Minister, said.

The overall pass percentage is recorded at 96.56 per cent.

The topper of BCSE 2018 is Sonam Pelmo from Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School with 91 per cent.

Ugyen Thukzom also from Lungtenzampa MSS came second with 90.6 per cent followed by Rigzin Gaylay from Lhuentse HSS with 90.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, in Language and Culture Studies Certificate (LCSC), Sherub Dorji of Language and Culture Studies topped with 77.6 per cent.

The second position went to Sherub Jamtsho, also from Language and Culture Studies with 70.6 per cent and with 70.2 per cent, Sonam Dorji stood third.

A total of 13 candidates appeared for LCSC Class X examination.
