The Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) warned Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa’s candidate of Dewathang _Gomdar Constituency and two respondents in Samdrup Jongkhar for third-party campaigning yesterday.

The two respondents were campaigning on behalf of the DNT candidate Thinley Namgyel although they were not representatives or party workers or members of DNT.

The dzongkhag’s coordinator of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa filed the complaint on October 16. The party coordinator had also submitted a video evidence.

The commission says the warning has been issued as per the Election Dispute Settlement Rules and Regulation.

Meanwhile, in a separate election dispute case, the commission issued a warning to Sonam Jamthso an official of Tarayana Foundation for campaigning in Lhuentse for DNT on October 14.

DPT’s Lhuentse Dzongkhag’s coordinator Karma Cheki lodged the complaint on October 16. She also submitted a voice recording of the official as an evidence.
