(Lhuentse fire update) Fire fighters in Lhuentse are still battling the forest fire in Jarey Gewog. The fire, in its 4th day today, has destroyed over 500 acres of forests. The Beat Officer told BBS the area includes parts of Thrumsingla National Park in Ura, Bumthang.
Our reporter says people from Gorgan, Jarey and forestry officials are still trying to control the blaze. Strong winds and rugged terrain is hindering efforts to contain the fire.
