A single –storey, semi-permanent house was gutted by a fire in Khar Gewog of Pema Gatshel. The incident took place around 7:30 pm yesterday.
The owner, a 34-year-old man, who was home at the time of the incident, claims the fire was caused by an electric short circuit.
The fire-fighting team had rushed to the scene, but it was too late. Lack of road connectivity hindered efforts to save the house.
No belongings could be salvaged.
The Dzongkhag Kidu Office and the disaster management team have delivered Royal Semso and disaster relief kit to the victim.
