A 23-year-old man was drowned in Darachhu in Dagana yesterday.The incident happened when he was trying to wade across the river along with four other people.
The victim, a local of Gozhi Gewog was helping officials , who were conducting a river survey for the construction of dam site. That time, another official was also washed away by the river but he managed to save himself by holding onto the rock.
Police and other rescuers evacuated the official but are still searching for the man who has drowned in the river.
