KGUMSB launches seven courses

Commemorating its third foundation day, the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) launched seven courses in the capital, today. The courses were developed under the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, and Faculty of Traditional Medicine.

Under the Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, courses developed are: Paediatric Critical Care Nursing for seven months, Neonatal Critical Care Nursing for seven months, Lay-Nga and basic nursing care for three months, Midwifery and Essential Newborn Care for six months, and short courses on Emergency Medical responder for three months, and diploma course for three years.

Certificate course in Menjong-Sorig spa and wellness for three months was developed by the Faculty of Traditional Medicine.

The courses are expected to update skills and knowledge of different health professionals, which will provide improved and quality care to the patients of different health care needs. Apart from these new courses, the university already offers 12 different courses.

The university also launched Sorig Journal and Khesar Gyalpo University Information System to mark the founding day.  The Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan was established in 2015.
