The national airliner- Drukair has temporarily suspended domestic flight operations to Bumthang and Yonphula.

The reason for the suspension, according to Drukair is that a component which is installed in one of the engines of its ATR 42-500 started giving problems. The aircraft hasn’t flown since Monday. Drukair officials said, it is the same engine that had higher Inter Turbine Temperature a couple of weeks ago.

They added the spare parts will arrive tomorrow after which they will replace the failed component of the aircraft’s engine. Drukair expects to resume flights on 29 January.
