Bhutan has established diplomatic relations with Mongolia and Vietnam. A Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed between Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations in New York, Lhatu Wangchuk and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations in New York.
Another Joint Communiqué was signed between Lhatu Wangchuk and the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the United Nations.
