New Lam Netens appointed

His Holiness the Je Khenpo today appointed four new Lam Netens for Rabdeys of Trashiyangtse, Chhukha, Trashigang, Gelephu and the Principal of the Dechenphodrang monastery.

Lotay Singay, 45, was appointed as the Lam Neten of Gelephu Rabdey. Prior to his appointment as the Lam Neten, he served as the Denzhi Lam of Nyizergang Monastery. He also served as the assistant teacher in Wangduephodrang Lobdra, lecturer in Tango Buddhist College. He also worked as a meditation instructor in Langpoi-zher Drubdey.

Jigme Chhophel popularly known as Kaka was appointed as the new Lam Neten for Trashigang. He is 45 years old. He studied Zhung Rigney under the guidance of former Dralop Kuenley Gyeltshen in Phajoding and Tango Shedra. Prior to his appointment as the Trashigang Lam Neten, he was in the retreat.

Forty three years old Ugyen Dorji was appointed as the new Chhukha Lam Neten. He is from Gayling Geog in Chhukha. At the age of 8, he enrolled and started studying at Pung-thim Dratshang. He later studied at Tango Shedra and went for three years retreat in Chari Monastery.

Yeshi Tenzin from Kengkhar in Monggar was appointed as the Yangtse Rabdey Lam Neten. He studied at Monggar Ngatshang Dratshang and Tango Shedra. Prior to his appointment as Lam Neten, he served as the Lopen of Mongar Gel-phu Drubdey.

Kencho, 42, was appointed as the Principal of Dechenphodrang monastery. He is from Bar-tsa under kana Geog in Dagana. At 13, he was enrolled at Pungthim Dratshang. Later kencho also served as the Kudung. He also underwent retreat for three years under the guidance of Dorlop Kuenley at the age of 39.
