A group of 19 monks from the Gangtey Shedra have formed a Jamtsey Nyamchung Zabtog Tshogpa to help the patients at the national referral hospital in Thimphu.

They work in coordination with the hospital staff and provide necessary assistance to needy patients.

Currently it is taking care of eight patients, providing meals and buying medicines that are not available in the hospital.

The coordinator said if the doctors identify needy patients and give them instructions, they can render better services.

The service will be extended to other dzongkhags depending on financial support.
