The Home and Cultural Affairs Minister introduced the Draft Disaster Management Bill in the National Assembly today.
The Bill will facilitate the prevention and mitigation of disasters and help the coordination and provision of effective response, relief and recovery from disaster.
The Bill mandates the government to provide leadership and support to protect society from disasters and adequate space for diverse groups such as experts and private individuals to function in the field of disaster management.
The Draft Disaster Management Bill will be further discussed before endorsement.
