Seven senior scout masters were awarded the Gold Service Award by the Bhutan Scouts Association. The award was given during the National Jamboree Scouts event which is underway in Gelephu.

The Education Minister, Thakur Singh Powdyel, awarded the medals and certificates to the senior scout masters.

They were awarded in recognition of their dedication and services rendered to the scouts association.

The seven Gold Service Award winners served for the cause of scouting for more than 10 to 15 years.

Bhutan Scouts Association was established in 1996.

The Association became a full-fledged member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement in 1999.
