His Majesty attends armed forces day

His Majesty the King attended the second Armed Forces Day at Tencholing Military Training Centre in Wangduephodrang today.

Thousands of people participated in the day’s celebrations. .

On arrival in Wangduephodrang, His Majesty the King was received by the Chief Operations Officer of the Royal Bhutan Army, Major General Batoo Tshering, the rabdey monks and dzongkhag officials.

In his address, His Majesty commended the armed forces for their constant and unwavering service in safeguarding the security, peace and sovereignty of the country.

His Majesty also highlighted the key role played by the armed forces during the recent natural disasters.

His Majesty the King was accompanied by Her Majesty the Queen.

On the occasion, Her Majesty the Queen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck launched the first Army Magazine titled “The Army”.

The Magazine was launched to commemorate the historic royal wedding and pay homage to the monarchs and the Wangchuck dynasty.

The armed forces and their families presented a cultural programme to entertain the guests.

His Majesty the King also served lunch to the people.
