Religious programme keeps students occupied

A week-long religious programme in the capital known as Lakshed Rigtsel attracted over two hundred students from Thimphu Thromde and nearby districts.

Lakshed Rigtsel is a religious programme, first of its kind, to engage students during the month-long summer break.

Teachings on Gyalsey Laklen, Nyoendro, biography of Lord Buddha and Guru Rinpoche were conducted during the programme. Students were also taught to develop tolerance and treat every living beings equally. They were also reminded on eliminating anger which causes disagreement amongst communities and families.

The Thimphu Thromde Scouts Association organised the programme jointly with Zhung Dratshang. From now, it will be organised every summer and winter vacations.
