The Golden Youth Award Camp ended in the capital yesterday- declaring Sangay Tempa from Nganglam Higher Secondary School as the Golden Youth for this year. The award by given by the Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y. Thinley.
During the past one week, these participants, four from each dzongkhag competed in games and sports, literary and singing and dancing competition.
Although selected as the best ones from their respective dzongkhags, the award was for the best of the best. And Sangay Tempa from Nganglam Higher Secondary School proved his worth.
Three students were also given the runners up award.
Addressing the gathering after the award, the Prime Minister said the participants will strive towards serving the nation with utmost dedication.
Meanwhile, for the Golden Youth Sangay Tempa, receiving the award from Lyonchhen was an honour and experience that he will embrace throughout his life.
The award is an annual event. It s started in 2008.
