Most of the farmers in Yangneer Geog in Trashigang left their farmland fallow in the past.

The reason farmers were not able to market the surplus that they produced in the absence of a road. But things have changed for better now with the arrival of a farm road in 2007. Today farmers have started re-cultivating their lands.

Farmers said the farm road is vital for enhancing their livelihood. They said with the farm road they can now market the surplus.

People of Yangneer largely depend on Potatoes and Maize for their livelihood. They grow it on a large scale and the excess is taken to the Samdrupjongkhar auction yard at this time of the year.
