A book titled “Switched Off”, written by the Bhutanese author Karma Tenzin was launched  in Thimphu today.

Based on present happenings with technology breakthrough, the book tells a story of how misuse of technologies such as smartphones can cause disharmony within families.

“Switched Off” revolves around the mysterious death of a fictitious character named Ram Bahadur Gurung who is a murder victim.

“The victim is lost for a number of days and when all his friends and relatives try to contact him but his phone is switched off,” said the author of Switched Off, Karma Tenzin. “That is the main thing and it has got other connotations.”

From what has been shared by the book reviewers, the book introduces readers to nuances of police investigation and tells about truth triumphing ultimately and that one cannot escape consequences of one’s own actions.

Switched Off is Karma Tenzin’s fourth book. His other three books are: The Restless Relic, The Darkest June and the Barnyard Murder and the Other Stories.
