Police in the capital have arrested two class XII science students of Yangchenphug Higher Secondary School today in connection with the assault on the school’s caretaker.
The school caretaker was critically injured when a group of young men assaulted him in the wee hours of November 28.
He was referred to the national referral hospital with a cracked skull. He underwent surgery last week and is recovering in the hospital.
Police and school authorities believe that the unidentified young men had come to steal the class X and XII board exam papers which the caretaker was guarding.
According to the police, the two boys have confessed to the crime.
In their statement to the police, they reportedly said they had planned to steal the board exam papers because they didn’t do well in the trail exam.
They also told the police that two more friends are involved.
