85 arrested for drug abuse, trafficking last month

Police in Thimphu made 85 drug related arrests last month- 57 for drug abuse and the rest for trafficking of controlled substances.

The drug abusers have been handed over to the Bhutan Narcotics Control Authority for rehabilitation, while the others are still in custody. They will be charged with illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances

All the arrests were made in Thimphu in separate incidents.
