The second entry gate to Phuentsholgling from Jaigaon opened today. The gate will serve as a point of entry for the two wheelers and light vehicles.

The heavy and all other vehicles carrying goods will have to continue to enter the country through the main border gate for customs clearance until the new gate is equipped with all required facilities.

The opening of  the new entry gate is expected to facilitate economic activities and ease traffic congestion in the border town.

The gate will be manned by staff from relevant law enforcing agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Pedestrians will not be allowed enter from the new gate.
