Lingdaen Chiwog to have BHU in 12th Five Year Plan

Lingdaen Chiwog under Phuentshogling Gewog in Chhukha might be abuzz with the construction of much needed Basic Health Unit (BHU) during the 12th Five Year Plan period.  

The health minister Tandin Wangchuk confirmed this in the National Assembly session, yesterday.

The confirmation came after the Member of Parliament (MP) from Phuentshogling Constituency, Rinzin Dorji, on behalf of his constituents, proposed for the construction of BHU in the chiwog.

MP Rinzin Dorji said without a health facility in the chiwog, villagers have to travel all the way to Phuentshogling Hospital for check-ups and treatments. However, that does not fall on their platter easily as they have to endure weather woes.

“During winter, it is alright. But during monsoon, condition of farm road deteriorates, making vehicular movement impossible. In such times, people cannot travel to Phuentshogling hospital,” added MP Rinzin Dorji.

The health minister, however, made it clear that the plan must be rooted from the gewog level and land has to be identified before construction of BHU  takes place.
