The knockout round of the 17th Yangphel Open Archery tournament began in Changlimithang, today. Seventy two teams qualified for the knockout round including three teams from Sikkim.
The league round was held in eight Dzongkhags and nine different venues. The annual tournament saw yet another record breaking participation of 267 teams with 1,602 archers from across the Country.
Thimphu itself saw 112 teams, followed by Phuentshogling with 37 teams including seven teams from Sikkim.
During the inception of the Yangphel Open Archery Tournament in 2007, only 23 teams took part.
The knockout round ends on August 20 and the final will be played on August 31.
