The National Assembly today introduced the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Bill 2017.
Finance Minister Namgay Dorji said the bill is important for proper financial flow and will help in maintaining peace and harmony in the country.
The bill has been submitted to the Good Governance Committee of the National Assembly for review.
Meanwhile, the house deferred the deliberation on the Marriage Bill 2017. The house after initial discussion found several inconsistencies within the bill. The speaker asked the National Law Harmonization Committee to takeover and review the bill. The committee will then submit the bill to the cabinet as a government bill.
