The people of Tangsibji in Trongsa were overjoyed to welcome His Royal Highness The Gyalsey for the first time to the paternal home of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen. They were also extremely happy to receive His Majesty The King and His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo, yesterday.

Tangsibji is the ancestral home of Yab Dhondup Gyaltshen, Her Majesty’s father.

The people from the village and nearby areas also had the opportunity to offer Khadar, ceremonial scarves in celebration of the Royal Birth.

“I am content now that we have had the opportunity to welcome Gyalsey and to offer our wishes. I had been waiting for this day ever since I heard of the Royal Birth,”  said an elderly villager, Phub Gyem.

The people presented traditional songs and dances to celebrate the occasion. His Majesty granted tokha to the people.
