Some 70 facilitators of Early Childhood Care and Development centres and Non-Formal Education instructors in Pema Gatshel underwent a four-day training and refresher course.

The training ended yesterday at Zobel Gewog in Pema Gatshel.

ECCD facilitators and NFE instructors were trained to enhance child’s cognitive development.

They were familiarized on the importance of children’s health and nutrition and their evolving emotional and social abilities.

Since ECCD centers enroll children with special need, caregivers were also trained on how to deal with them.

Some of the participants said it was apt and at the same time refreshing to have such trainings.

“Being in remote place, there are no other avenues to improve and update our knowledge practically. This training will greatly help me,” said an NFE instructor from Nanong Gewog, Tshering.

Pema Gatshel Dzongkhag Education Sector said enhancing the quality of children’s lives is a national priority.
